Charles Harden is a full-time artist with a studio and gallery in Barnstable, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He has studied art since early childhood with the guidance and instruction of his parents (both designers from Parsons School of Design, NY, NY) and grandmother, Cape Cod artist Eleanor S. Kelly. Charles’ formal art education began at the age of 9 with drawing class at the Cape Cod Conservatory of Art. From then until college he was the recipient of numerous first place awards at the Barnstable County Fair. Charles studied art at Providence College and then at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking and Graphic Design. He has also had additional training at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and interned with well-known etcher Carol Travers Lummus. Charles is an artist member of the Cape Cod Art Association and the Provincetown Art Association. He is active as a wildlife artist for the Cape Cod Chapter of Ducks Unlimited conservation group and works in his studio overlooking Barnstable Harbor where he does all his own printing, painting, matting, framing, and carving. His works are included in private collections in MA., NH., VT., NY., NJ., MI., RI., Wash. D.C., W. VA., PA., FL., GA., CA., CO., AZ., TX, WA., London, England, Sydney, Australia, Berlin, Germany, Belgium and Japan and are currently being shown at Harden Studios located on Route 6A in Barnstable Village, MA., the Old Print Barn Gallery in Meredith, NH., and The Sandpiper Gallery in Wellfleet, MA.
