The famous
quote is from Whittier's circa 1855 poem, titled in "The Poetical
Works of John Greenleaf Whittier," "LINES, INSCRIBED TO FRIENDS
UNDER ARREST FOR TREASON AGAINST THE SLAVE POWER" and later titled
"FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS' SAKE"
