Lacquer Tray
Antique early to mid 19th century Chinese export lacquered wooden serving tray with exceptional detail. The tray has been mounted to a custom wooden base that makes a perfect coffee table.
The tray features a detailed landscape centered by a group of men, women, and children around a large fishbowl. The landscape has gardens, water, a bridge, ducks, fish, insects, and various figures in boats, on land, and holding different types of lanterns and fans. There is an inner, chain-link border and intricate corner decorations.
The base is bamboo turned wood with fine cross-stretchers and slightly splayed legs with out-swept feet.
